Artist: DIEGO RAY
Diego Ray, Italo-American DJ producer.
His art is characterized by an uninterrupted research for the sound, and his nights by the desire to be different from his colleagues.
Since the early 90’s, during his nights, he always knew how to distinguish himself, with the use of a dumb piano and a sampler, offering a real performance other than music.
In his youth he begins with dance afternoons at Carillon Disco Club in Salerno, then some years later he becomes the resident DJ at “Lulallena” (now “Non Ho Sonno”).
From 1997 he begins his bid in the nightlife, working first in the “RIO” discotheque in Fregene (Roma) and then in the most fashionable discos and clubs of Salerno and the Amalfi coast, like the VITTORIA theatre and MIAMI.
In 1999, he has been the resident DJ of one of the greatest discotheques of southern Italy, the “D&D”, and then he started animating the fool VIP nights of Sardinia in collaboration with Harry Davis.
At the same time, with his work engagements and with poor resources at disposal, he equips a little “home studio”, where his first production comes up.
In the year of 1999 his first vinyl “COPACABANA” was released, from the project “NERUDA”, with the “Planet Rec” record label.
There have been other following projects, with the same label, like “You Make Me Fell” and “Kick and Snare”. Then in the year 2004 he worked with an English label, the Quarzo Record, to the “SOTTO SOPRA” project with the track “LATINO GANGSTAR”.
In 2005 a project was released with the famous Italian label “Sound 4 group”, headed by Stefano Noferini, entitled “SUPERHERO”, characterized by a compressed and aggressive sound.
Nowadays Diego Ray continues his research for innovative sounds, and he has some more projects to realize.
