The Truth About Lost Witness!
On the surface Lost Witness appears the successful
But even with the relative success achieved Mr Lost Witness (SI PAUL) has never truly been happy!
Not to scupper the triumphs to date, it is relevant to note that realistically Lost Witness until now was pretty much a miss match of singers, and bolt on front people there to add credibility and aesthetics to the eager trance buyer! Danni Alexander who fronted Seven Colours ( Nina James actually sang the track) Lucy Morgans who featured in the Happiness Happening Video and Nancy Collins in Red Sun Rising (When in fact Tracey Carmen was the singer who also sang Did I Dream)
That is not to say that Happiness Happening and the like, as songs will not stand the test of time in the higher echelons of Trance Fame and Celebrity they will. But Si Paul always wanted Lost Witness to be about him and his music! Something that previously could not be achieved! UNTIL NOW!!!!
Si Paul had always had a vision of what he wanted Lost Witness to be and was always looking for that sound and that sound was to elude him until now. Fortunately It was his commissioning and investment in the remixes that took Lost Witness from his home studio in Ascot to Top 40 starting with the timeless Lange remix of Happiness Happening which still today is guaranteed to rock any crowd! The trend continued with Lange on Red Sun Rising to Angelic (Darren Tate) on 7 Colours to Tiesto on Did I Dream.
Si Paul who started his career way back when started producing at the age of 16 and wrote for a year or so with Nick Bracegirdle who is better known as Chicane. His first record the BY-Si EP was released in 1994 whilst working with Tomski another artist on the Xtravanagza imprint! This then followed a 3 record deal with SunUp releasing How I Feel / Can u You Feel It and Cherokee.
1997 saw a new challenge Label Manager of Tidy Trax..during that year he met Simon Kemper. Simon K became the missing link and was to engineer all the tracks that became the Lost Witness known to clubbers around the world. The whole thing started with DUSK till DAWN Fine Night an underground anthem if ever there was one! BUT again it was the remix commissioned by Si Paul that got this off the ground .enter Paul Janes! Tidy Trax producer extraordinaire. This success of the Untidy Dub got them in with the writer Ed Barton who wrote the first three Lost Witness Singles. The problem for Si Paul was still the Sound which was never quite right. Si Paul parted company with his former engineer and the end of Lost Witness seemed likely until .
6 years after Si Paul founded Lost Witness and during the two years since the last single Did I Dream he had time to consider the future and decided to do it all again, so forming a new alliance with the man who helped start it all, Paul Janes (for further info on Paul Janes see attached biog). Now the search was on for a singer to complete the band and form the Lost Witness that never was. An act, an artist, a band!
Enter Tiff Lacey (see Tiff Biog). A relative new comer to the dance scene but an accomplished singer none-the-less.Her distinguishable sultry vocals add credence to the rich productions that make the Lost Witness sound you will hear today.
Her calibre is unquestionable as her vocal appears on productions of Tiesto, (M-Box) ATB, and Oakenfold.
The first Lost Witness single for two years Wait for You features guest vocalist Andrea Britton (Jurgen Vries) already championed by Jules . so now the story can unfold Lost Witness are back!!!
Already the new sound of Lost Witness has received plays from Tiesto and Mike in the form of INDIE, Judge Jules on Wait for You. It is time for Lost Witness to reclaim its place in the hearts and minds of the worlds Trance Community! ENJOY!
