Focus
In 2003 and at the tender age of only 14, Focus (Shea) had already started producing, DJing and playing out at local under 18 gigs in Christchurch, New Zealand. For the next few years he could be commonly found playing at such events as Nitrate and Rinsed playing such genres as trance, hardcore and hard dance. Shea spent much of his free time in-between his sets tucked away in the studio, tweaking knobs and honing his art.
In 2005, Shea was introduced to psychedelic trance. As a result of this, a unique and very cool sound oozed from his studio which takes influences from all his beloved genres and more. Shea was soon introduced to people at TMet Recordings and started releasing his material on their NZ-based MP3 Store.
Fast forward to 2006 and TMet decided to take their music global and host it amongst the biggest labels in the world and chose non-other than one of Shea's recent tracks to launch their new platform. It worked, 'Focus - Existence' made Number 1 on various online music stores and into the charts of some of the biggest DJ/producers in the industry.
The industry is beginning to take notice and Shea has been busy at work in Christchurch producing future TMet hits and has just released his follow-up to 'Existence' with the arrival of 'The Nitrate EP' whom he collaborated with another local producer Crisis for one of the 2 tracks.
