J-Bass and Journeyman, hailing from North West
London, joined forces over 6 years ago with one mission. To create Breakbeat
aimed at the dancefloor.
They are best known for
their productions as J-Bass vs Journeyman and co-owners
of the Breakspoll Top 20 Breakthrough Label - Born Idle Records.
Recently they further confirmed
their unity as production duo,
CODE RED.
Both previously had a
passion for underground music, which brought them together via the rave circuit,
over 15 years ago.
In 1993 they were both
DJs on rival London Pirate radio stations: Don and
Touchdown F.M. Both
stations now share legendary status, as known for offering the most ground
breaking, underground party music at the time.
With a combined DJing
experience of almost 30 years these boys have a deep knowledge and expertise at
working small and large crowds into a uniquely, phenomenal, Breakbeat experience.
Many recent international gigs lay testimony to that fact, as their DJing and
productions have taken them from their home town of London, to Canada, Romania, Poland, Czech Republic, France, Spain, Romania, Germany, Slovakia and beyond, sharing their original Breakbeat sound with
fellow music lovers. In 2004 they set up Born Idle Records. Artists and djs
including, The Freestylers,
Plump DJ's, Annie Nightingale, Drumattic Twins, Aquasky, The Breakfastaz, Orbital, Napt, Ctrl-Z, Chris Carter, Baobinga, and music press such as DJ Magazine, iDJ Magazine and Mofo Magazine have shown their
support.
At the same time, the Born Idle Records Show was conceived.
