Minima
Tweaking knobs since 2000, Minima is an electronic music project based
on real live performances. By using the primordial concept around dub,
e.g. the use of the mixing board as a musical instrument, the duo
formed by Fipa Vazquez and Renato Patriarca performs live with mixes of
electronic drums, synthesizers and loops. In the studio, the "dub" idea
is also explored in the duo's own productions and remixes as an
important part in their process of music creation. Minima is currently part of Tropic Records' cast, (http://www.tropicrecords.com.br), the prolific Brazilian electronic music label. The label has released Minima´s tracks in vinyl and digital, such as "Breaks One" (with a promotional video directed by photographer Ricardo Carioba), "Seaside EP" and remixes of Los Brutos and Pimps project's tracks, with support from DJs as Anderson Noise (click to listen).
In their live performances, Minima has played alongside many great artists like Umek, Valentino Kanziany, Simon Baker, Speedy J, Vince Watson and Inigo Kennedy, and has done some live collaborations with guests such as DJ Vanni (aka Automan), South-African DJ Evan Funkus and singer-songwriter Laura Finocchiaro.
Minima also performs and produces experimental projects with fine artists such as sculptress Rosana Monnerat, painter Chiara Banfi and Irish multimedia artist Dennis McNulty, at an event integrating the 26th Art Biennale of SP held in Vermelho Art Gallery (São Paulo).
