Born in Colchester, then quickly off to the Philippines for a few years. grew up in Canberra and now Brisbane- Gold Coast region of Australia is my home, I always found pleasure in bass boosting, knob tweaking, fader riding, the car stereo, friends stereos every music and dept store stereo since I could reach em. Once a week on Philip College radio with mates Chanin, Dave (Tomic), Josh and others would not suffice. Attending my first party blew my mind. A good friend who taught me how to mix, Archie was playing really wicked breakbeats and I was mesmerized by the whole experience being in your zone with the DJ. My life then changed. So every spare time at school we would go to Eddison Park, then the closest decks. From playing and meeting others in the burgeoning underground scene I was soon playing at many outdoor events set in the pristine bush (pre Bushfire). Battling friend Tomic at most sets was always fun where a real flair for chopping and layering many records together was borne. One of those rare connections of talking to each other through music and reacting, its a real dialogue. After a brief stint in the reserves I knew that learning how to kill people was not for me. Playing at these parties and making people celebrate though a groove- crescendo-transition was where it was at. I went then to Atlanta, GA after high school where I met many cool cats, who helped me out, propped me up and gave me a place to stay, play and do my thing. GA crew if you out there. Peace Mad Love. This is where I really learnt a lot from ATL, to NOLA, Houston and back. Returning home after 6months I dabbled in various courses such as multimedia, psychology and programming. I decided to focus on the audio production side of things. I played at various free parties and eventually the Legendary Vinyl Underground parties with fullonfuckoffnobulshitinyourfacetechno. Wow. They were fun. I followed my desire to study audio and in need of a warmer change I moved to the Sunshine Coast, Then the Gold Coast, and loving it. The weather, the vibe, the beach, great new friends and old ones that have moved to or will hopefully one day, its a great place to live. Using technology such as Stanton Final Scratch and Ableton Live, I am now able to manipulate my own compositions and layer them with music from anywhere in the world, giving my sets a limitless blend of my own creativity and those who continue to inspire me. I now run the Gold Coast Audio Academy where I tech DJing and production to eager new DJs. This along with producing music both live and in the studio gives me a great buzz. Passing what I learn on in turn teaches me more. I have started a digital only at this stage label, Themojodojo.org for getting my own vibe out there and others who like the platform. I am into technology and applying it creatively to transcend emotion, knowledge to all creed and colour and who knows where this will take me. I love music and media and people, play who I am and follow my instinct. Peace, XU
