Abstract
Adrian Walmsley AKA Abstract/ A.D.E. started producing his own beats in 1992 on a Commodore Amiga, influenced by tracks like Urban Shakedown -Some Justice, Danny Breaks -Far Out and darker tracks like Lenny Dee - We Are I.E and Tronik House - Uptempo.
He originally wanted to make music for computer games but lost interest in that idea and continued making music just as a hobby, as time went on he acquired better equipment and through practice gained more musical and technical knowledge.
In the year 2000 he started taking things more seriously, entering and being a UK finalist in the "Roland Masters of the Groove" competition which involved playing his track "Circuit Breaker" live at Mr. C's The End club, bringing an Oldskool Jungle vibe to a House and Techno dominated night, the positive reaction he got inspired him to keep on improving his skills in the studio.
Since then he has worked with vocalist and songwriter Kay BG on various projects while still doing his own thing, nowadays he is using a mainly software based studio, programs like Logic, Kontakt 2 and Reason help him shape his deep, musical sound, showing his LTJ Bukem, Breakage and Paradox influences.
Currently signed to Jamin Records and is working on getting more of his own music online, more tracks with Kay BG and a concept album (can't give too much away about that!). In the future he wants to set up a live band, start his own label and promote his own club nights that showcase more of the chopped up breakbeat styles of Drum and Bass.
