Towie

At just 25 years old towie has actually been spinning records just under half his life. Firstly as a hobby at the age of 12, which began to transform into a possible career, after a debut appearance at Blackpool’s newest dance club Insomnia in 1999. A comfortable win at Insomnia’s own DJ competition a few months later earned him the title as new resident. Djing throughout his college days alongside the likes of Rob Tissera, Dean Wilson, Alex Ellenger and George Thompson to name a few, ensured his overwhelming desire to become a success in the music industry. A desire which led him on to study Audio Engineering at SAE Technology college in London.

The course only urged him on more and more, attending his first lessons in electronic music production. On completion of the SAE Diploma, his strong sense of ambition and willingness to meet others in the business drew his attention to the Technics DJ Academy in Manchester. Impressed by his flawless skills as a DJ, musical awareness and general personality, the management offered him the position of substitute tutor once his studies were complete.

Through a fellow tutor, Towie was introduced to Fergie, who at the time was exposing new talent on his Radio 1 show. Shortly after that, he was taking control of the back room for Fergies’s own Excentric nights @ Turnmills. More support in 2005 came from the UK’s infamous music press, Mixmag. Claiming Towie’s metropolitan mix as winner of their monthly contest for aspiring DJ’s. Furthermore, this very same mix was highly appraised by Electro Traxx magazine of Barcelona -

‘No es de extranar el nivel profesional en la seleccion y ejecucion de este DJ-mix consegrado al electro-tech-house. Towie es todo profesional que ya casi no necesita de nuestro consejo y apoyo’ - Traxx

As we closely approach 2007, Towie now runs his own record label which he uses as a platform for his own productions. The label focuses on innovative electronic house music. The first release - Falling From Windmills E.P, released in early October has caught the attention of many across the globe. In particular Axel Bartsch, who recently signed one of the tracks from this very E.P to his own label, Sportclub based in Hanover. Available at the end of January 2007.
