Billie Blaze
With over 12 years of involvement in the dance music scene, there's not much Billie Blaze has not done! Having run a record store, run a production company, released multiple records on his own label, and more, all before the age of 21, there's not much he CAN'T do! With a strong love for hard dance, he's not afraid to meld different sounds into his own style.. With influences ranging from minimal techno to acid trance to hardcore, Billie definatly likes his beats bangin! From the get go, he knew his musical tastes weren't in line w/ his peers. He sought out the hardest, darkest beats he could. Initially, he started out playing a wide range of techno including: detroit, minimal, acid and tribal. Still not satisfied, he went from genre to genre trying to find his style, chicago hard house, hardcore, and finally Hard NRG. It was then that he met up with long time friend / partner, James Fusion. This relationship exposed Billie to a wider range of NRG and Techno sounds, something that's not very easy to come by in North Carolina! His current style is what he likes to call Tech-NRG.. With heavy amounts of Hard Techno (Schranz, Acid, Minimal), a heaping scoop of NRG and just the right amount of Acid, his style is sure to devastate any dancefloor.
His strong desire to know how EVERYTHING works, have taken him thru the ranks from sound engineer, to lighting technician, to DJ, to producer. Currently, his main love is in designing and building his own synthesizers and effects processors from scratch.. Simply amazing considering he has no formal training in the subject.. To date, he's designed and built 5 synthesizers, an effects process and a drum synthesizer.
