Eloi Brunelle
Eloi Brunelle
Eloi Brunelle has been a musician for over 10 years: Initially a Hip-Hop producer, he has been dedicating himself since 1998 to develop his unique blend of techno and house, which has been described as having " cool contours and a warm interior " by the French music magazine TRAX. Fascinated by the possibilities found in spontaneous composition, he has made it his speciality. Since 1998 he has been performing regularly in Montreal, with notable performances for the FCMM (Montreal New Music and New Media Festival), Mutek, and the 2001 Montreal Independent Music Initiative awards gala, where he was nominated for "electronic artist of the year". He is also a regular at the famous Epsilonlab events (www.epsilonlab.com). In February 2000 he released his first vinyl EP, titled "Meemee", on Center Recordings and in June 2001 he followed up with his first full-length album, "Elsonic Project".
His compositions have also found their way on several compilations, notably Force-Inc's "Montreal Smoked Meat". In the summer of 2002, he participated in the MEG Festival's European tour, where he got the opportunity to present his work in several venues, notably the Batofar in Paris, as well as the Cargo in Neuchatel, which was part of the Swiss Expo.02. It was on this tour that he recorded his latest album "Live at Neuchatel". Following the MEG, he took part in Someone Else's summer program, where he got the opportunity to perform all over Europe, including London's legendary "Fabric" club. Besides his music career he also plays an important role as the musical director of the Epsilonlab collective as well as the founder and manager of the Epsilonlab record label.
