DJ DEVIOUS Born in a small town not far from Adelaide better known for its wine than DJs, Chad aka Devious grew up with a b boy attitude, listening to hip hop, doing graffiti and break dancing.
After sneaking into Arkabar one night he discovered a whole new world, from the first second he heard the beats and saw the people dancing he was hooked for life that is the moment that Djing and tekno would consume him for life.
Since then DJ Devious has become quite simply Adelaide's favourite and most respected big party DJ. A career built on over ten years of DJing, Devious is a strong part of the Adelaide scene and currently holds the award for Adelaides most popular tekno Dj, awarded by the South Australian Dance Music Awards.
Renowned through out Australia as one for the hardest working DJs behind the decks, his slammin, uniquely hypnotic and powerful style his amazing mixingability and passion for tekno has seen him appear regularly at clubs and playing monstermusic festivals in his home town and around Australia including Storm (WA), Every Picture Tells A Story, Acid Reign, Earthcore, Two Tribes (SA & VIC), War Of The Worlds (VIC), Enchanted Forest, Stardust (Carl Cox warm up set -SA), Hyper Tropic Reaction (CRN) System 6 (Brisbane) to name a few. With two guest spots o-n triple JJJs mix-up and features as a regular guest on Australias only 24 hour dance music radio station, Adelaides Fresh Fm.
Devious has huge local and national following and massive dance floor appeal, armed with a crate full of belting tek-funk, once this bloke gets started there is no stopping him! Sure to impress the tekno enthusiasts. On the other side of the decks, Devious is part of Adelaide's most influential production company, The Enchanted Crew, taking out Promoter of the Year andParty of the Year 6 consecutive years running at the South Australian Dance Music Awards.December 1998 saw the beginning of The Enchanted Forest phenomenon which has become Adelaides biggest outdoor dance festival smashing attendance records year after year.
The Adelaide dance scene for a long time was considered the leader within Australia with mind blowing parties and quality acts leading the country through the early nineties.
However all good things come to an end and unfortunately Adelaide fell from the top of the mountain and seemed happy somewhat to do so. Enter the Enchanted Forest crew with their first instalment in 1998. DJ Devious and MPK dragged Adelaide kicking and screaming back to the forefront in Australia.Summertime is definitely the party season and with Australias climate what better way to celebrate then with an outdoor venue, skilled DJs and a couple of thousand friends both new and old.It was this thinking that started what has become Adelaides favourite party series.
The basis behind Enchanted Forest is the adventure, as the parties are 100% outdoors the location is secret until the night of the party.Punters collect a map from a checkout point and the adventure begins. Enchanted leads party goers into what may be the best party experience of their life.
Growing at a phenomenal rate these parties have again created anenviable reputation for Adelaide throughout Australia and perhaps more importantly the world.Enchanted Forest is an Adelaide Icon reaching a world class levelIf Djing and Promoting isnt enough to keep one man busy, in 2002 Devious looked for more out of music and embarked on a mission to bring his sound to the world.He teamed up with long time friend and studio partner Pete Delete they started making music together and since then their sound has mutated into a fusion of no holds barred techno with a hip hop and break beat influence.The Turbofunk studio was born.
