3 Steps Ahead
Peter-Paul Pigmans (aka 3 Steps Ahead), one of the biggest and well known names in the hardcore scene, began his career in 1993 when his first productions appeared on Rave Records and Hard Stuff Records under the names The Illegal Alien and Silverbells. Later in 1994 he was asked by ID & T to produce for their label. A different aristname was chosen because of the fact that he produced the records together with Rob Fabrie (DJ Waxweazle). They made two records together named 'Step 1' and 'Step 2'. Because both producers had different interests and not much time to make records together, Rob Fabrie decided to leave 3 Steps Ahead.
The first big succes came when Drop It was released. It was also the first 3 Steps Ahead CD-single which came out (although the Hardcore-Sex Mix of Thunderdome VI his first production was which came out as CD-single). In 1997 he released his first album called 'Most Wanted & Mad' which became a huge succes in the Dutch album salecharts.
In 1998 his wife gave birth to their first child which they named Lara Jill. Later on his wife would give birth to a son, which they named Ender Pigmans after his The Ender alter ego.
Peter-Paul died on the 27th of august 2003, after fighting against cancer for 4 years. In July 2003 there was a benefit party for Peter-Paul but it was already too late.
