Artist:   Introspective

Mike Hulme, aka Introspective, has undoubtedly achieved unrivalled recognition as one of Breakbeat's rising stars in 2003/04. Since his opening track 'Time Travel' (Aug, 03) released on the pioneering Breakbeat label Sinister Recordings, Introspective has received critical acclaim from some of the most established and respected DJ's/Producers in the business.

URB Magazine (June 04) saying "Introspective is quickly becoming one of the hottest new artists in breaks, with his superb blend of melodies, heavy beats, and a tinge of funk".

Such acclaim to a producer who has released just two original tracks, and has only just turned 20, signifies Introspective truly has an exciting future ahead of him.

Described as 'ecstasy in music form' (Streetwise Records), his debut remix of Splitloop's 'Klaxx' was nominated for the 2003 Breakspoll award for best remix. Introspective's completely re-vamped version saw it getting heavy radio play on Radio 1 (Koma & Bones/Fergie) and Kiss FM (Tayo/Jay Cunning) and was also short-listed for Bedrock Breaks III mixed by Meat Katie. This remix quickly set the foundations for even better things to come from the talented Manchester-based producer.

Also during this period, another of his productions "Pleasant Experience", was licensed to the Sony Playstation 2 game 'Dance:UK'.

Following explicit support from Jay Cunning and Atomic Hooligan, Introspective was invited to guest for Tayo's Kiss FM show. The mix has now been syndicated to both Breaks FM and Angus Robinson's Proton Radio show. Mike has also been heard displaying his DJ skills on Elite Force's Strong Arm Sessions' at the Breaks FM studio, London.

Introspective stepped up along side Lee Coombs to provide a remix of Atomic Hooligan's "Shine A Light", released on Botchit and Scarper in May 2004. In June's edition of DJ Magazine Hyper quoted, "This guys remix of Atomic Hooligan's recent single was the clear winner on the package".

The remix received an abundance of DJ reactions from the likes of BLIM, Plump DJs, Hyper, Meat Katie, Elite Force, James Zabiela, etc, Introspective was once again cited by Rennie Pilgrem as a 'Very promising new act who has turned in a wicked club version of Atomic Hooligan's latest smash (and grab)'. The track has already been slated-in for inclusion on this year's Y4K compilation.

The second Introspective single for Sinister, "Slavery Incorporated" released June 2004 features a remix from Hungary's Chi Recordings artist 'Amb' (himself a Breakspoll 2003 Nominee). Already in the Breakbeat top 3 world sales charts and #11 for two months in DJ Mags Beats and Breaks chart, 'Slavery Incorporated' has received even more critical acclaim than his past productions. Introspective seems to have the rare ability to improve on his last work.

Mike recently celebrated this collaboration with a 2-hour set at the 'Ablak-A-Dubra' night at Süss Fel Nap, Budapest and has firmly cemented his fan base in Hungary with a live mix on Tilos Radio.

The latest remix to come out of the Introspective stable is for 'Benz & MD' of their epic track "Radiance". Due for release on Canada's leading label 'Release Records' in late 2004. Also in the pipeline for this year is a remix for Hyper's label 'Kilowatt', Meat Katie's new imprint 'Lot49', along with more original releases on Sinister.
