Darcy O’Connell-Bristow AKA Doc B, began producing in late 2010 at the age of 18. It was at Access to music in Norwich, that Darcy learned the basics of music production and music business. After writing his first track ‘Cracked Logic’  on Logic Pro 9 he was surprised at how quickly he was able to work his way around this DAW. It was a few months later that Darcy began getting recognition from his productions such as ‘Jack’s cold sweat’ and ‘Vortex’ from a small and independent label  from Essex called ‘Intravenous Sounds’ run by David Oneil. It was then that Darcy had the opportunity to sell his music digitally on the well known site ‘Beats digital’. Darcy went on to produce  ‘Quantum’ and ‘Down the rabbit hole’ in late 2010 early 2011. These tracks would become Doc B’s best produced and loved tracks. It was now more than ever that Darcy began getting interest from DJ’s and so getting his tracks played at clubs and raves across the UK.

After seeing so much interest in his music, Darcy decided to set up his own record label called ‘Blackout Recordings’ in February of 2011 to release his material. His first release was his own track ‘Quantum’ which sold well not just in the UK but in Europe and the United States. It reached the number 1 spot in Juno Download’s hard trance bestsellers charts. Doc B’s next release, ‘Down the rabbit hole’ sold even better than his last release. Once again receiving sales and plays from all across the world such as the UK, Europe, North America and South America. It held the top spot in Juno download’s hard trance charts and was selected for the ‘Juno recommends hard trance’ playlists.

Down the rabbit hole was Doc B’s latest release as Darcy took some time out from producing. He is now focusing more on his record label and trying to get it known and out there. So far it has seem to be very successful, as it has gained massive recognition in the small amount of time it has been in operation. Releasing music from established artists such as Zac Steele and Craig Emoson & Monomonkey, Darcy has also given smaller but still very talented artists such as Gallagher & Pascoe the chance to get their music out there and heard.

Blackout Recordings is doing so well that Darcy is now planning his first 12” vinyl release. He will go on to press Quantum & Down the rabbit hole with remixes from Zac Steele and another established artist to be confirmed. 200 records will be pressed and sold on major online stores all across the world.

With a few tracks in the pipeline such as ‘Dream State ‘and ‘Out of control’ and some collaborations with Dean Warren, Darcy has a some new material coming out soon so keep your eyes pealed for his latest productions.
