Bundle Information: It’s 1987, and the world has gone crazy for R-Type: the game that will change the history of videogames. During those years two kids keen on videogames and music were totally unaware of the fact that just a few years later they would name themselves after the phenomenal videogame and that they would become R-Type: a duo that would leave a mark in the electro house world. Andrea and Enrico have collaborated since they were fourteen, they worked together for a radio station as hosts and for some clubs as DJs. A few years later they decided to buy two speakers to make some money spinning records at private parties. It was like this that they raised money to build their small recording studio, the same studio that is now their second ‘home sweet home.’ Their intense passion for music has given birth to their potent project R-Type. Although House music is actually the core of their music, the R-Type sound is a sort of a melting pot of all the musical experiences they’ve had during years of DJing. There’s always something to learn when working in clubs. R-Type trained themselves through living different experiences and listening to music coming from the past and the present and so becoming the electro-duo of the future. Andrea and Enrico draw inspiration from Daft Punk, Royksopp, Faithless, Basement Jaxx, Groove Armada, Les Rythmes Digitales, and Alex Kid. 18teen is their first hit single and big success. After its release the song reached the top of digital charts remaining in the top 10 for months (number one of: www.trackitdown.net). Everybody talks about 18teen because of it’s ‘peculiar’ vocalist. The song, in fact, contains a sample of the voice of a famous teenager porn star that introduces herself and welcomes the audience to her initiation into the world of porn movies. Marcel Woods literally fell in love with 18teen and decided to use it as track number one for his compilation “High Contrast.” Maurice Noah created a remix edit of the single for the record label Dirty House Music and 18teen became even ‘stronger’ and was ready to achieve more success with a larger audience. |
