Traum was founded in 1998 by Jacqueline Klein/Anima and DJ & producer Triple R a.k.a. Riley Reinhold. It was initiated by a trip to Buenos Aires, which set off the label with TRAUM CD1 „Elektronische Musik aus Buenos Aires“, which became one of the top 10 in THE WIRE charts of 1998 and kicked off nearly 80 records plus over 20 cd`s by international artists from all around the world. The label is unique in this respect and different to all labels in Germany.

The perspective was to feature like-minded music, music which focused on an aspect of techno which would not depend on a club night dynamic but much more on the musical side of techno. International artists from the U.S.A., South America, Canada, Poland, Finland, England, Ireland and France followed. Artist in the beginning were; Process, Miss Dinky, Philippe Cam, Anton Kubikov, Salz, Fax, Broker Dealer etc. united both the physical side and the emotional-listening aspect.The label has changes over the years, stopped releases ambient electronic music and has focused on the club side of the label.

In 2003 on a new generation of artists from Cologne like Adam Kroll, Process, M.i.a and Oliver Hacke emerged and Traum started working more closely on the development of music itself, doing co and post production, working stringer on the whole production side.
With the discovery of the German artists Dominik Eulberg and his international hit:Die Rotbauchunken vom Tegernsee the label has made a big effort to establish itself as one of the top techno labels in Germany, releasing a groundbreaking album by Domininik Eulberg Nathan Fake ,Minilogue, Jesse Somfay, Robag Wruhme/ Toby Neuman Remixes of Dinamo and Thomas Brinkmann Tour De traum Album.

Storming the charts in Germany  with several releases per months the Traum  Schallplatten organisation has made it to the top In Groove and Debug  magazine with Dominik Eulberg, Steve Barnes, Alex Under Debug also being supported by the English press Dj magazine/Mix Mag and the BBC, with a recent feature on Traum on RADIO 1.

New big echoes  are coming lately also for   Audio Werners release on Trapez ltd, Oliver Hackes Remixes on Trapez and Franklin de Costas  Eps; Shane Berry, Luke Le Mans,3 Channels, Alex Under, Jeff Samuel, Ryan Crosson,A bestseller and heart on TRAUM is the  compilation Elektronische Musik – Interkontinental which reflects the forthcoming releases and hence the newcomers, which is a party of Traum philosophy to work with new talents such as Kenny Leaven, Zentex, Florian Meindl, Ortin Cam, Lars Wickinger, Gabriel Kogler, Adam Kroll, Maschkraft, Process und Nathan Fake.
