With a virtually unrivalled pedigree in quality house, electro and Detroit-influenced techno reaching all the way back to the first release in 1995, D1 Recordings has succeeded in establishing a distinct sound and aesthetic that has proved a successful launch pad for artists such as Donnacha Costello, David Donohoe, Rob Rowland, Americhord and Five Green Circle
while also offering a second home to respected names such as Fatima Yamaha, DJ Bone, Keith Tucker and long-time D1 collaborator Mark Broom.Now, as of March 2007, D1 takes a step forward. The new re-designed D1 Recordings website offers a simple and easy-to-use resource that allows users to browse audio samples of the labels entire back catalogue - thats thirty-one 12 releases and four LPs in total - with all tracks now available for the first time as either highest quality (320kbps) MP3s, or as full quality wavs.
Selected highlights now available include Visitors Model Two (originally released on the Basement Life EP), David Donohoes critically-acclaimed LPs Statuesque and First Course In Hygiene, Keith Tuckers U Will Dance EP, DJ Bones What You Believe EP, and Fatima Yamahas Whats A Girl To Do EP. All tracks are offered at a mere 99 cents each, with full EPs and LPs offered at discounted prices. Alongside news and general chat, the new site also features a DJ Tools section, where we will be giving away free full quality audio loops of material taken from D1s back catalogue, specially selected for DJs and remixers
Henceforth, all new D1 releases will also be released digitally through the website (whilst simultaneously enjoying a very limited vinyl run, especially for the vinyl-collectors). First up is Eamonn Doyle's RED SHIFT ep, which will be followed shortly by new remixes of material taken from Americhords Enter EP by Dan Curtin and Mark Broom, with the long-awaited D1 debut Irish-based Ikeaboy to be released very soon after Following on from that, you can expect to hear lots of exciting new music from the likes of Fatima Yamaha, Five Green Circle, Kan Shinomura, Baiyon and Daniel Jacobson, Mark Broom, Americhord, amongst others
All new material from D1 Recordings will also available through all major online music outlets, with digital distribution handled via EPM.
