Metropolis Project Records
Launched in 2008, owned and operated by the Metropolis Project (www.metropolis.art.br) electronic music crew, the brazilian-based digital label Metropolis Project Recs. (www.metropolisrecs.com.br) was created to promote internationally the independent electronic music production from the alternative brazilian scene exporting different styles and genres in digital format.
The label's digital releases, which are different from others due to working with electronic music's branches less accessible for general public, but that also add diversity and promotion of electronic culture and identity, are already available in different stores around the world such as JunoDownload.com, TrackitDown.net, iTunes Store and in the next months Beatport.com, AmazonMP3 between others and already counts with more than 10 producers, number that is in exponencial growth, not only in quantity, but in genres, styles and forms of expression as well.
The label looks forward to a even greater development of the brazilian electronic scene, not only by releasing different artists, but promoting in global scale brazilian DJs and producers. This initial purpose, exporting our culture to the european, north-american and global market, is to take the independent brazilian art production to a new stage, generating promotion and culture exchange.
The purpose of a Label, in such proportions and with a future growth, is to promote the development not just of the music and producers itself, but also the whole electronic scene, including the development of a electronic culture and offering an easier access to diverse electronic material culturally related with electronic music allowing the debate and constructivism of a culture not based in the simple media common sense.
