Absys Records is a Dublin based label that specialises in deep,
futuristic and atmospheric Drum & Bass music. Initially set up in 2008
to showcase the work of a number of of less well-known producers such
as Ultracode, Silbrfish and Cestah as well as cult figures like St.
Petersurg's Dissident on the first CD compilation 'Behind the
Corner', the label quickly built up momentum and released a series of
free Digital releases. These included a string of very well-received
EP's from Ultracode, CJ Weaver and Metro as well as an EP that
showcased work from strictly Irish-based producers. The label also
branched out into other musical genres with the release of a 6-track
Digital album by Poland's Fusion Art, which explored the fertile
intersection of Ambient, Glitch and Dubstep. At the same time, Absys
ongoing online Absys Art project started, aiming to showcase work from
cutting-edge graphic designers. The intention is for the Graphic and
Musical sides of the Absys project to continue hand in hand, with
limited edition prints being made available of the best work, in the
same way that the cream of the labels musical output has been released
on the two compilation CD's released so far. The second compilation
CD, 'Strangers From Nowhere' expanded on the label's initial musical
vision, and drew on the collective talents of artists as diverse as
Sub, Nuage & Getz, ICR, Crix , Dissident and Radicall.This drew even more
positive attention to the imprint while it also showcased a solidification
of the labels aesthetic.

In 2010 Absys Records intends to continue to build on the excellent
reputation gained from their output so far and to tackle more
ambitious projects; the first of these has been the lovingly packaged
limited CD album 'Emotive' by Radicall. Further Digital releases are
scheduled to follow later in the year, with a view towards eventually
progressing towards the release of music in a Vinyl format.
