Fat Records
Setup by the founder of seminal Drum N Bass label certificate 18, Paul Arnold's Fat! records is now in its 7th year.
Pauls Chew The Fat parties have graced dancefloors all over the globe. Running every friday in Brixton Chew The Fat! became the breakbeat stable of the capital, exposing the newest artists and DJ's who have since become major players on the scene. With all this new music being bought down to the night Paul decided to launch the label and put this underground sound of Brixton Breakbeat on wax. As the label has grown so too have the clubnights, now finding a home monthly at The End.
Fat! Records currently boasts a thundering release schedule for 2004. Fat! favourite Friendly is still firing on all cylinders, most recently with the massive 'Bump N Grind'. Its been a massive hit accross radio, from XFM to Radio One with Zane Lowe, Annie Nightingale and Eddy Temple Morriss to name a few of the fans. This year we have also introduced a new hero to the roster, Soho Jo. His 'I Like Synthesizers' has been doing serious damage in the clubs finding support not only from the breaks scene but DJ's such as Sasha and James Zabiela too. The follow up 'I Like to Dance' is sure to do the same. Over the years the Fat! camp residents have delivered some bone shaking cuts with releases from Friendly, Daddy, Hedrock Valley Beats, Klaus Hill, Apollo Kids and Jeff Dam, not forgetting superstar remixes from the hottest breakbeat tag-teams in town; Lee Coombes & the Drumattic Twins, Koma & Bones and Meat Katie & Elite Force.
As the label and parties move from strength to strength expect to see alot more from Fat! in the future.
