Housewives Choice Recordings
Housewives Choice Recordings aims to represent the true underground vibe of the hard dance scene. It is label manager Lox’s ambition to promote new talented DJ’s and producers, hopefully gaining recognition and support from the major players in the hard dance world along the way.
HWCR was born in the shape of 500 white labels stamped with the definitive HWC ‘Bucket Head’ logo. The first release ‘Believe’, written and produced by lLox, gained a reasonable level of credibility and was supported by the likes of Jay Pidgeon, Amber D and Anne Savage. The follow up, ‘Only One / The Execution’ was written and produced by Nottingham based DJ Double A and engineered by the then up and coming ‘man of the moment’ Alex Calver and was one of many of Alex’s hits on his road to superstardom.Since then HWC has never looked back, firing out hit after hit! HWC003 ‘In My House’ written and produced by Cumbria based DJ / production duo Andy K & Lee Mills received glowing reviews in Mixmag & M8 magazine: “This label’s picking up a fair few fans now with its policy of bringing through lesser-known producers.” The original featured respectively in Lisa Pin Up’s mix on Nukleuz Hard House Anthems 6. The filthy Lox ‘911’ remix was receiving massive support from such DJ heavyweights as Andy Whitby, Rob Tissera, Lisa Lashes, Lisa Pin-Up and Anne Savage. HWC004 ‘High’ was written & produced by Housewives Choice label Engineer Leigh Green. ‘High’ is a sexy, groovy, vocal hard-houser with a catchy vocal hook which is the root to the tracks success. On the ‘High’ remix, Tidy label manager Sam Townend delivered a garage-style funky techno groove which received support from Rob Tissera, DJ GRH, Tolley and big support in the USA! Mix mag says: “Housewives’ ethos of firing out tracks from up-and-coming producers continues as Housewives ressie Leigh Green puts together a good old hard houser complete with a catchy female hook to boot. It’s already featured heavily in many of Rob Tissera’s sets and looks like it will be the strongest release yet. Sam Townend’s garage sounding bad-boy mix makes up the flip!”HWC007 Lox & Dark By Design: ‘Chemistry’ features on the Tidy Weekender Live album Mixed by Lisa Pin-Up. Dark Society: Show Me The Way, destined for release on HWCR was quickly snapped up by Tidy Trax and the Lox & Leigh green Remix became arguably one of the biggest hard dance anthem of all time. Replacing it on HWC, Dark Society’s ‘I Got The Music’ has been a huge hit digitally as the label grows from strength to strength…..Now up to its 20th release HWC Recordings intends to pick up the pace. Talented new producers Richard Hibbert aka L-E-V8 & Jon Garritty & Ricky Glassey aka Sleezbagz alongside Lox and Leigh Green are firing out track after track with some corkers to watch out for in the coming summer months. The forthcoming ‘Hard Dance Sounds of Housewives Choice Recordings’ available on I-tunes and beatport.com will showcase the finest selection of unreleased material leading upto HWC025 by the end of July 2008. Watch out for the Sleezbagz EP1 & 2, the Lox & L-E-V8 remix of Ben Kaye’s ‘Attitude’, Leigh Green’s ‘Return of The Red Eye EP’ & Lox Vs L-E-V8’s hoover-laden monster, ‘Offensive Material’. Housewives Choice Recordings will consistently be devoted to original tracks written & produced by up & coming DJ / Producers.
