For a relatively new labe Hardcore Underground has done a lot in a few short years to establish itself as one of the leading lights in the modern scene. The label welcomes the Godfather of the sound himself, DJ Slipmatt, as he makes his first release on the imprint in the form of a top class remix and an original collaboration with Darwin. The SMD remix of 'Love Obsession' does what all Slipmatt remixes have done in the past; takes the very best elements of the original and gives them a unique twist with a highly energetic and original stamp. Tough beats, melodic programming, stabs and breakbeats all find their way into this track which sounds as 2012 as it does classic Slipmatt through and through. Taking things in slightly more soulful direction, 'Only For Me' is a 4/4 track despite containing plenty of nods to early Jungle and Liquid D&B. A great fusion of influences.
