Track Information:
Jon Does introduction to the Rave scene occurred around 91', with influences from the KLF, Acen and early Rave DJs such as Ellis Dee and Easygroove leading the way.
As his musical influences grew to cover everything from Jungle to House, 95' saw Jons first release through Stu J's Man From Uncle label. The following year 'Always' was released with support from Slipmatt, Seduction and others while the flip side 'Fire' caught the attention of DJ Brisk.
From here the momentum grew, with a natural progression with close friend and label owner, Billy Daniel Bunter, into hard house, with releases on Tidy Trax, Nukleuz, HoneyPot, UK Hard, and of course, the seminal D series. Such releases as Warehouse and NRG came to define the burgeoning UK hard trance sound, which Jon was undoubtedly the predominant exponent of. Not content with this, further hardcore releases appeared under the 'CLSM' guise, with the massive Jon Peel (is not enough) becoming the catalyst for Jons successful involvement in Radio 1s appointment of DJ Kutski to represent the genre on their Residency shows. Jon Doe has occasionally quietly fired out some breakbeat tracks under other aliases and has recently started to produce under the Peacemaker name, with remixes of NRGs He Never Lost His Hardcore, Snap - The Power and Kid Alaskas Money Maker among his repertoire.
Not quite content with releases across dance genres Jon has turned his hand to filming, editing, compiling and occasionally presenting Underground (www.undergroundtv.org), a dance music orientated series on Skys Rapture channel.
What next I hear you ask? Well, alongside the continued growth of the Peacemaker label and live performance, Jon is also ready to turn his hand back to hard dance, feeling that the whole genre needs some serious shaking up. Re-launching D records is the first stage in this, with new productions and remixes from himself, Vandall, Matt Lee, Technikal and Kutski among others. The follow up to the critically acclaimed Jon Doe Live album is also on the cards, with the infamous live P.A touring the country with the best recording being earmarked for the album release. Its an exciting time, to keep your eyes, and ears, peeled!
