Atomic Jam 9th Birthday

On Saturday 14th August Atomic Jam techno stalwarts Atomic Jam celebrate 9 years Jamming with a monster knees up at the Custard Factory in Birmingham. After the madness of the 8th birthday under a marquee last year this looks set to top it all. Joining the residents Chris Finke & Ade Fenton on the night will be the "unofficial" 3rd resident Dave Clarke, Andy Weatherall (both of whom are also playing electro sets in the 3rd room), and Chris's SPLIT partner Ben Sims. The Drum and Bass room sees the return of Blame accompanied by an all star line up.

A new study of 380 Melbourne clubbers published by the Australian Drug Foundation (ADF) has revealed that typical recreational drug users are upstanding, otherwise law-abiding, members of society, few of whom experience any adverse effects from their drug use.

“I’m going Australia for six months in October basing myself on a beach just outside Sydney, about 40 minutes south, in a national park. At the moment I constantly tour everywhere which is not good because of all the flying involved whereas what I’ll be doing is living the lifestyle I want to be living; basing myself on a beach just south of Sydney. So I’ll be able to spend much more time surfing. I’m not particularly good at it but I love doing it.”

Their debut single is a Latin flavoured affair featuring vocals from Susanna Lopez which is set to be a Balearic anthem this year. Groovallegiance is Jim on production along side fellow house legend Al Mackenzie and Ashley Skinner on guitar, look out for release soon on Monneypenny’s Records.

Nick Ladd from Glastonbury Festival’s first ever spin-off event The Glade chatted to Skrufff this week and revealed that they’re aiming to create an event that captures ‘the true festival spirit of Glasto ‘72’. The 5,500 capacity outdoor weekender features seven stages and a massive array of DJs and performers though unlike Glastonbury will be entirely dominated by dance music.
