56K Recordings Press Release

Reported by Trackitdown TID on November 8, 2005

56K recordings was established in early 2005 by Phil Cogan and Pete Wallis. Their aim was to bring some originality and variation back into the hard dance scene. Since 56K’s conception there have been 10 mp3 releases; several of these hitting the top spots of the major hard dance download charts as well as getting plays from big name djs and huge appreciation on the world message boards.

“It’s a platform for us to play with, allowing us to be a little more experimental with our own production and also with the artists we sign. Because our releases are only available in mp3 format we don’t have any of the pressing and distribution costs associated with vinyl record labels. Much of the music we release is fresh, and comes straight from the studio to the website in a matter of days”.

As the year comes to a close, 56K we are planning future releases for the label. There will be some exciting new tunes from Phil Cogan, Pete Wallis, Eufex and Janet Jinx including a collaborative track from Eufex and Pete. So expect the unexpected when these two talented producers are locked in the studio for a hard days work.

They’ve also added a new signing to the 56K books "John Rowe". John is a very talented producer and a local legend on the Newcastle scene. His hard acid/psy trance live sets have been ripping up various nights around the north for a few years now – hold tight for Tinrib influenced hard energy with a unique psy edge.

In addition to their record releases in the new year, 56K are also planning a UK club tour. Artists from the 56K label will be DJing and playing live in your local club night. So far planned are Detox and Newcastle’s Cause & Effect, but keep watching the 56K website as we’ll be revealing more bookings as and when they are confirmed.

Please keep an eye out on the website as the site will be updated soon with fresh dj pics and production pics.

Our 3 top selling tunes: "Ruffneck", "House is Yours, "Audio Bomb".

Thanks to everyone who has downloaded our tunes and supported us since we have started in jan' last year.
