Skrufff-E Celebrates 5 Years Of Sex, Drugs, Music & Politics :: Skrufff.com

Reported by Trackitdown TID on June 14, 2006

Acclaimed alternative e-zine Skrufff-E celebrates its fifth birthday next weekend, with three parties at London clubs Trailer Trash (On The Rocks), Family (Bar Music Hall) and DTPM (Fabric) (June 16-18).

E-zine founder and publisher/ DJ Jonty Skrufff will be spinning his latest blend of dirty rocking electro-disco-tech at all three parties, with either free or reduced admission for all Skrufff readers.

“Skrufff’s grown almost entirely through word of mouth recommendations by our hyper-intelligent, super- interesting, unusually good looking readers,” said Jonty, “So we’re delighted to present 3 parties for them at our three favourite London clubs. We’re not that big on birthdays generally but 5 years seems well worth marking.”

As well as publishing their weekly e-zine, the entirely self-funded, independent media operation also supplies content to a wide network of international magazines and sites including Pacha, TrusttheDJ, TrackItDown and Judge Jules.net and also broadcasts a weekly show on Ministry of Sound Radio, with more projects bubbling.

“We’re in it for the long haul with Skrufff, it’s our life, our interests and our passions, all rolled into one, “said Jonty, “We’re not to everybody’s taste and we exist beneath the mainstream radar; and that’s the way we like it; so far, so good.”

Trailer Trash is on Friday June 16 at On The Rocks with free admission for Skrufff readers until midnight. Family is at Bar Music Hall on Saturday June 17, admission is free, though the club operates a strict door policy (dress UP essential). DTPM is at London superclub Fabric is on Sunday June 18; email dtpm@skrufff.com for details of free/ reduced admission rates.

For those unable to make it next weekend, Jonty’s also DJing at Meet (next to Fabric) on Friday 23rd June for the launch of Rebel Electronic Chic (London), then at Kapital in Berlin on Saturday June 24. For free guest list admission to either party, please email jonty@skrufff.com (though places are limited and will be allocated on a first come/ first served basis.)
