Soulwax, Dubfire, Dj Yoda, Ricardo Villalobos, and the showcase by Germany's Dial label, among the new confirmed line-up for Sónar by Night
Soulwax, the band format of 2 Many DJs and remixers of LCD Soundsystem, Robbie Williams and Kylie Minogue come to Sónar 2008 with a visual and elegant live show littered with highly danceable hits. Dubfire, 50% of Deep Dish, will present a session with his new latest generation sound for the dancefloor. After travelling the world to study the indigenous percussion of each region, Ricardo Villalobos, will land at Sónar ready to recreate his new perception of rhythm in a minimalist but energetic session and Dj Yodas Magic Cinema Show will be the title of a show with Brazilian beats, country, pop culture and film classics which will be laid on by the most revolutionary and original DJ in British hip-hop culture. The showcase by the German label Dial Records will feature Pantha Du Prince and Efdemin, presenting their fusion of minimal house and intelligent techno with an experimental spirit live. The darkest sounds and most cutting edge sounds of electronica will be brought to Sónar by Night by Madrid's Oscar Mulero. And on both Friday and Saturday, visuals by the highly-regarded graphics collective Pfadfinderei will provide the images for Sónar by Night. Meanwhile, during Sónar by Day, Quiet Village, the duo consisting of Joel Martin and the emerging dance star Matt Edwards (aka Radio Slave) will present their first album Silent Movie while The Black Dog, the founding fathers of IDM and one of the most influential electronica groups in the early nineties, will flood the Hall Stage with their new sounds. Finally, Two PIAS DJs will perform a retrospective session to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Pias label which will range from its imminent releases, still yet to hit the shops, to the year 1983 when the label Play It Again Sam Records was born.
