Kanye West’s custom-made stage has been built. The immense amount light and visual effects are ready to be switched on and his mighty sound system is being suspended over the famous fields of Long Marston Airfield where once a year 50,000 of Britain’s most colourful party people congregate for a spectacular feast of aural delights, at Global Gathering 2008!
The festival organisers have planned a bill that mixes up the music industry’s most innovative live acts with the world’s most legendary DJs including Moby, Roisin Murphy, Mark Ronson, Tiesto, Sasha, Armin van Buuren, and Roger Sanchez.
Europe’s two biggest big-tops have been erected; the Global/Godskitchen giant striped marquee with its 6 stately turrets will house 12,000 whilst the MySpace Electric Arena’s super spacious arena will tent 10,000 electronic music fans into one big happy family.
State-of-the-art visual screens have been hung in every arena, so whether it’s the technological prowess of itiles, the illuminating wonders of LED or the kaleidoscopic colours of chroma-strips, every tent will blow your mind.
The team behind the festival have already held three Global Gathering’s around the world this summer and each one has seen the temperature rising! 25 degrees in Poland and 27 degrees for Belarus and 31 degrees in Ukraine 2 weeks ago, the weather forecasters are predicting SUNSHINE for this coming weekend.
There is a grand total of 16 giant arenas set up ready to entertain you over the weekend, each with their own monolithic sound systems! Highlights include:
· Sven Vath - hosts his own techno arena named after his label, ‘Cocoon’
· Roger Sanchez - presents the sound of ‘Stealth’ arena, his US House and Garage label
· Spectrum - the uber credible breakbeat-electro brand never disappoints
· Laurent Garnier - not just one of France’s, but also one of London’s # 1 techno maestros performs at Global Gathering for the first time.
