BBC Radio 1 will once again undertake a massive musical makeover this coming October, heralding a massive injection of new blood, and a fond farewell to a a couple of the station's biggest names.
Amongst the evening roster there will be new shows by In New Music We Trust stalwart Kissy Sell Out, hard dance DJ Kutski and 1Xtra's eclectic urban DJ MistaJam. Heading out the door in this shakeup is Trance DJ Eddie Halliwell, and the legendary Dave Pearce, who has been a fixture on the station for the past 13 years.
Speaking to Radio 1 Newsbeat, Pearce said: "It's been an incredible 13 years at Radio 1, of all the shows I've presented Dance Anthems is the one I'm most proud of creating."
In addition to the names mentioned above, the In New Music We Trust Line up has also been given a shakeup, with new presenters Heidi Van den Amstel (techno), and Jaymo & Andy George who will be playing "electro mash up". They will slot into the constantly-rotating lineup on Thursdays from 2am until 4am.
Judge Jules has also had his show moved to the 11pm - 1am slot on Friday nights, and finally Tim Westwood, the station's erstwhile hip-hip DJ, has had his show extended by an hour on Saturday nights, so will now run until 1am.
