--- 1 - Michael Eavis talks about the Glade
Glastonbury founder Michael Eavis has publicly supported Glade Festival in an open letter today. By supporting his festival's successful export, the letter also gives the community of smaller UK festivals a boost.
Glastonbury is without doubt the undisputed star of the British festival landscape, and the creative inspiration for a plethora of other successful festival organisers. It is also the mothership that has provided hundreds of thousands of people with their first festival experience.
Michael Eavis' letter read: 'About ten years ago I persuaded Luke Piper, Glade Festival Director, to run a new area at Worthy Farm called 'The Glade'. 'Why the glade' Luke said 'sounds like a perfume' 'an opening in the woods' I said - 'a perfect venue'. And so it was. So successful was The Glade, he asked to borrow the concept for a site in Newbury which worked too.
'Now, after a good few years the site has moved from Newbury to Winchester, a beautiful farm in a natural amphitheatre with lots more room - better access, and a lot less people living close by.
'The Glade Festival has lots of Glastonbury connections with thrills and feelings not dissimilar to our own, including programming and atmosphere that has form and reputation.
'If you couldn't get a ticket for our show here at Glastonbury, thank you very much for trying, but would you mind me suggesting that you give Glade Festival a try? I don't think you'll regret it!'

--- 3 - Amazing options on the snazzy camping side of things
To make your life easier we have this year got an array of camping options from the normal to the downright silly... As ever camping at the Glade is free and is right around the arena.
But if you want to make life easier then you could buy your tent online from J' Bananas and pick it up at the festival.. Or you could take a tipi or yurt for the weekend or even check in to Hotel Bell Tent where they claim you have the ultimate way of going large... Perhaps eclipsing that you could hire an airstream caravan...
The long and the short is we've got it all laid out nice and easy for whatever level of ridiculousness you're looking for. Have a look at the camping section on the Glade website...
--- 4 - The Arcadian Fireshow...
As you should know the new Glade Festival is built around a fire roaring, smoke belching, musical tower of burning-manesque babylonia and each night at 10pm will play host to the Interstella Fire Show; a rock and roll fire show with death defying feats by the world renowned sword swallower 'Space Cowboy', angle grinding minxes, pole dancing divas and hot hula ladies as well as an unimaginable contortionist! A rare collaboration of performers including the fire swinging supremos from Bristol's fire crew 'Chimera'. These wonderful people are also hosting the Interstella Circus Bar and we'll have more on that soon...
