DnA Presents….. Stephan Bodzin - Friday 19th June at The Lightbox, Vauxhall.

Reported by Ben Stroud on May 27, 2009

In an endless sea of London club nights, DnA’s mission is to stand out as the most unique, forward thinking party of them all. Bringing to you a host of underground, cutting edge names even the most musically educated may not yet be familiar with, DnA’s goal is to provide a platform for the cream of the world’s underground scene to do their thing in the cities finest, and most intimate new venue, The Lightbox. And the 19th June sees seminal House/Techno artist, Stephan Bodzin, drop by for a mammoth 5 HOUR SET!!

Stephan Bodzin’s background, the son of a highly experimental musician, saw him break out into the industry through highly intricate productions for prestigious European theatres. Fast forward a few years and his musical history progresses to being discovered by the blindingly legendary, Mark Romboy, and his love for the electronic scene spilling out music so impressive he is now without doubt at the forefront of the worldwide Techno scene. Being asked to remix for the likes of Depeche Mode, The Knife, and the jaw dropping, wet yourself artists that are Booka Shade, as well as releasing on some of the scenes most important labels such as, Get Physical and Systematic, led to Stephan gaining enough collaterally to make the next logical step and set up his own record label, ‘Herzblut’, which provides a perfect base for his innovative productions. With his live performances becoming as famed and impressive as his DJ sets, Stephan pushes on as one the most seminal artists in the scene today.

Reminiscent of Berlin’s world famous Watergate bar, The Lightbox is an LED covered masterpiece, setting a perfect setting for a techno dungeon, it’s incredible sound system ricochets sound around its mere 400 capacity room, and continually attracting the most musically free and explorative crowds, will fit perfectly with DnA’s unrivalled guest artists and their obscure, deep and beautiful sounds…

This month’s Room 2 hosts are one of East London’s freshest and finest parties….. Wearebirdwolf! Bringing to the table mixture of DJs which are always sure to blow you away and make you dance your socks off. Their policy is to bring you the best in cutting edge and tried and true, classic electronic music from wide and far. They will be playing everything from Detroit, Chicago, House, Minimal/Breaks. Announcing some awesome guests for this event, Wearebirdwolf inject a healthy dose of aural diversity to an already stellar line up!

King Roc is half of the wildly successful techno / deep house duo Two Armadillos with Giles Smith of UK club pioneers Secretsundaze. He DJs in Brazil, China, & Australia a couple of times each year each, as well as being a regular face at all the big European and UK clubs.
He lives in Brazil and Berlin but really he's a nicely-mannered gent from southwest London.
He's also carved out quite a job reinterpreting big names from Future Sound of London to New Order to S-Xpress to new blood like D-Nox and Beckers. With his new album "Chapters" garnering huge critical acclaim ("Album of the month - 5/5 - Arrestingly beautiful" - DJ Mag), this is a chance to catch King Roc in a rare intimate gig.

You’re new monthly pilgrimage has arrived, prepare for DnA to take you on a journey through all that is exciting, fresh and progressive about the Techno and House scenes, complete with the finest guests and residents on offer in London and Internationally today.
