Creamfields Central Europe

The biggest festival in Central Europe will take place in the Czech Republic in 2008

Airport Břeclav
Czech Republic

Saturday 12.7.2008 14.00 – 08.00

Creamfields Festival was established in Liverpool in 1998 and during its 10 years of existence, together with Glastonbury, Reading and V Festival, has become one of the biggest festivals in the UK. It is also the most important dance event in the UK and each year it attracts well over 40,000 people.

From 2000 on the Creamfields Festival has also successfully expanded into many other territories – South America, Poland, Spain, Ireland, Portugal, the Czech Republic and Belgium. With 55,000 visitors, Creamfields Argentina has become the biggest dance festival on the South American continent.

Creamfields Festival expands limits in music perception in a new direction and has become a distinctive phenomenon for hundreds of thousands of young people.

In the Czech Republic the festival has taken place 3 times and become one of the most important music events on the Czech scene. After a 4-years break Creamfields has returned and this time to South Moravia – to Breclav airport. The town of Breclav is an important traffic junction. It is close to the borders of four countries and is easily accessible from Prague (252 km), Bratislava (80 km), Vienna (80 km) and Budapest (260 km). Although Creamfields Central Europe will draw its audience mostly from the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Austria and Hungary, it is estimated that thousands of fans from other European countries will arrive too.

The festival capacity is 30,000 people and it is expected that the event will become the most notable one in the Central European region in the summer of 2008.

On 6 stages Creamfields Central Europe will present more than 80 artists (bands and DJs) from all over the world.

The headlining artists of the event are 3 DJs of who featured in the DJMAG Top 10 – John Digweed, Sasha and Ferry Corsten, all of whom will perform on the Global Stage. DJ Sasha is the one of the most glittering and most progressive stars on the dance scene. His concept of the progressive and techhouse music is full of original sounds and ideas. His performances rate among the best that you can hear and Creamfields festival will surely witness this. At the same time as mentioning the excellent Sasha, it’s impossible to ignore John Digweed, who represents progressive house. For a long time he has been an icon of the dance scene and many of his sets are legendary. His cooperation with DJ Sasha is renowned and makes for an exceptional experience. The third megastar performing at Creamfields is trance star Ferry Corsten, a DJ and producer who represents the latest sound of trance. His radioshow Corsten´s Countdown is very successful and he is one of the most requested trance icons in the world. The Czech dance scene will be represented by DJ Lucca on this stage who will make the connection between Sasha’s progressive sound to the trance of Ferry Corsten.

On the concert stage, the Live Stage, will perform downtempo legend from Iceland – Gus Gus, sound engineers from Germany – Booka Shade, the British Coldcut, Austrian band Inina Gap, the Slovakian Bridgeheads and the Czech bands Monkey Business, Navigators and Lakeside X. After the concerts continuous drumandbass DJ sets from Andy C, Katcha, DisasZt, Sayko and Josef Sedlon will follow. British Andy C is considered the number 1 dnb DJ in the world and he will perform together with the highly respected MC GQ.

In the prime time slot on the Techno Stage you can hear the renowned Dutch Michel De Hey, a favourite of Carl Cox. Michel combines the elements of minimal with funky techno. Another distinct headliner of the techno tent is an icon of British techno, sound experimenter Funk D´Void.

Those who like quality house music will surely enjoy the programe in the Red Zone. Leading representatives of the progressive house will perform there – Lexicon Avenue from Britain, Australian Kasey Taylor and popular German-resident Hungarian Corvin Dalek. In the morning a real delicacy will be served by the Czech DJs Loutka and Tráva.

Camping is available for visitors coming from abroad right near the festival venue. On the day before the festival – on 11th July – the warm up party will take place in the part of the festival venue.
