British club group Sankeys are to open a new four-room club in Ibiza this season in Playa d’en Bossa, close to the island’s already hottest club ‘du jour’ the Ushiaia Ibiza Beach Hotel.
Monza Ibiza will be hosting Thursdays at Sankeys Ibiza kicking off a music polict that club chief David Vincent promised will be ‘based on ‘incredibly varied and forward thinking line ups.’
“We have got a world-class venue which is built very much in the spirit of the original Sankeys and we will be working with our friends and family to make this first season unforgettable,” he vowed in a press release announcing the venue
“I have a special relationship with Ibiza since promoting for the legendary Pacha over 13 years ago,” he added. “There’s no other place like the island in the world.”
Ushaia regular Luciano, meanwhile, confirmed he’ll be back at Pacha for another season of Sunday night Vagabundos parties, starting on May 29 and running through until October.
Usual suspects Michel Cleis and Reboot will be joining him as well as deep house DJs Moodymann, Larry Heard and Detroiters Carl Craig and Stacey Pullen.
Judge Jules also confirmed he’ll be hosting another series of sure to be rammed Sunday night parties in San Antonio’s Eden, launching on Sunday June 5 with Jules and Cosmic Gate. Guests throughout the season include Ferry Corsten, Marco V and me, Jonty Skrufff (on July 24).
Trance icon Tiesto also announced details of his annual Monday night residency at Privilege this week, revealing that Steve Aoki and Marcel Woods are amongst scores of DJs joining him at the 7,000 capacity venue. Tiesto’s events start of June 6, some five days before neighbouring superclub Amnesia open their doors with a launch party headlined by Germany’s newest superstar DJ Paul Kalkbrenner.
