On Friday 15th June, Trackitdown will be representing all styles of DnB at the legendary Glade festival. We’ve invited some of our favourite DJs/producers to showcase their take on the exciting sounds hitting the raves each and every week.
We’ve asked the crew to tell us a little bit about themselves in a series of short interviews and to give us a snapshot of the kind of beats they’ll be spinning!
Tickets for Glade are selling fast and we have them in the TID Ticket shop!
So we've already had a wicked selection of DJs giving us the low down on they're tunes and on festivals but there is still more to come. Next up we have DJ and producer Dub Zero....
Can you please tell us a bit about yourself and your sound?
I'm a Bass Music producer from south east Kent. Produced DnB for 5 years but now attacking the whole spectrum of Bass Music. Recently started a new project onboard Caspa's mighty label Dub Police with an E.P due to drop just after summertime. I haven't got a specific sound that I go for. I try to keep every individual track different. My DJ set is pretty much a mash up of all styles of DnB and Dubstep.
How long have you been in the game and what advice do you have for young guns wanting to make their mark?
Been in the game since 2007 and not looked back. The scene is full of so many producers, the only way to make your mark is to come up with something diffrent.
Have you always been a junglist? What were you into before you got into the scene?
I used to listen to UKG/House before my ears were blessed with Jungle Drum n Bass .
What was your first introduction to drum and bass?
A lot of my friends would always have a Jungle set playing in there yard/car I instantly loved the energy in the music then started hitting raves at a very young age.
Are you a fan of other sounds either electronic or otherwise? Anything outside of DNB that is exciting or inspiring you right now and why?
Anything that falls under the Bass Music category is for me right now. I Also listen to alot of Hip Hop.
Is this your first festival? If so, what are you looking forward to? If you’re a veteran what advise would you give to first timers preparing for their 3 day stretch in the countryside!?
Done a few festivals over the last couple years, Not much advice to give apart from drink plenty of water and party like an animal!
What’s been your favourite festival experience and what’s been your worst?
Favourite festival has got to be Montagood, Spain and the worst experience is probably getting so mashed at Montagood I missed my flight home in the morning.
Will you been rocking the wellies and the Barbour look at Glade!? Have you got any essential festival gear you always pack?
Will be leaving the wellies at home as I'm off to Fabric straight after glade.
Finally, we’re blasting out on a Funktion One rig set up around an ice cream van that’ll be our DJ booth! We reckon this could be the maddest set up! Have you ever played in some crazy places over your career?
I've played at some pretty crazy places but I don't think any of them will top playing in an ice cream van.
Thanks very much to Dub Zero.
We hope this has got you all very excited!?
