Crosstown Rebels star Jamie Jones unveiled details of the DJ line-ups for his forthcoming debut season of parties at Ibiza’s DC10 this week, and revealed his residents will include Subb-An, Richy Ahmed, Russ Yallop and Luca C.
The series of Thursday night parties kicks off with Art Department. Benoit & Sergio and Miguel Campbell on July 7, with Anthony Rother, Harvey and Maceo Plex headlining on subsequent July nights.
“I'm genuinely so excited to announce our residency in Ibiza this summer. To be hosting Hot Creations presents Paradise at my favourite club in the world is a dream come true,” said Jones (via press release).
“DC10 has been such an important club for me, and to have my own weekly party there is out of this world. This is going to be a fantastic summer,” he predicted.
Also on the press release, Jones’ publicists said in ‘bypassing the more sanitised elements of Ibiza’s corporate superclubs, DC10 has become a byword for those seeking the authentic underground experience’ and emphasized the venue’s hedonist reputation’. Tickets are also priced at €30, in dramatic contrast to the ‘real Ibiza’ described in the Financial Times last week ‘where VIPs spend €1,500 for a table at a club like Pacha for an evening’.
Noting how the island has so far proved recession proof from mainland Spain’s economic crisis, Savills estate agent Cathy Ouwehand chatted cheerfully about villas being let for €25,000 a week in summer while €1million buys the less well off ‘a three-bedroom contemporary villa with a pool and distant sea views’.
“Properties that are well located, with good views, are currently retaining their value,” she told the FT. “Demand for properties over €1m is strong because demand outstrips stock in this price bracket.” (FT: http://on.ft.com/LihaAR )
