Out went the Main Stage this year, and in came the Big Top instead! A tent so big that it housed in excess of 16,000 party people, not forgetting those that danced around the entire perimeter for the duration of the day! Avicii and Fedde Le Grand amongst others were just some of the names to rock the enormous indoor crowd, complete with state of the art lighting and pyrotechnics.
In addition, no stone was left unturned with regards to planning for the weather this year, especially considering the downfall of many 2012 festivals to the rain! Extra concrete was laid to widen footpaths throughout the entire site, diminishing the need for anyone to traipse through mud and water. What’s more, 12 of the 14 stages this year were indoors meaning that nobody needed stand in the rain when the heavens opened.
