This week we grab a few minutes with Brazil's No 1 EDM outfit, The Naza Brothers! Rafael & Renato take time out of their busy festival schedule to talk exclusively to Trackitdown about their forthcoming global plans.
How are you guys today and what are you up to?
We don’t waste time trying to make music all the time, it's only possible when we are not on the road! Also we play a lot of sports and stay healthy. It helps us to stay happy also which is an important thing for us.
Being brothers, what made you decide to join forces and take on the global dance scene as a partnership?
It was a natural decision, after 2 years after Renato began DJ'ing (He's my younger brother), then the promoters of the clubs started to book both of us at the same night and it all started there for the Naza Brothers, which is short for our family name Nazareth.
Residing in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil, what is the scene like out there right now? Is it all about the festivals? or is there a thriving club circuit also?
It used to be more clubs over here, but like other countries in recent times, Rio and Brazil are more into festival and big one-off events these days!
You have already had the privilege to play alongside some of the biggest names in House & EDM, Axwell, David Guetta, Kygo to name but a few. What's next on your list of stadium sized appearances?
Yes, it is super cool to share the stage with DJ's of this calibre, the next one is Steve Angello in November in Rio de Janeiro, and maybe also in São Paulo too.
With EDM splintering off into various styles in recent times such as Tropical, Future and a resurgence of the old electro sound. Where do you guys feel you sit in the ever evolving landscape of dance music?
I think is our style is going more towards the Future House sound!
Let's talk studio, what is coming up from you guys on the shelves here at Trackitdown?
We've just signed with a big record Label SOM LIVRE, and have some new tracks to launch very soon. The first being an electro banger with a Jamaican Rapper! Watch this space!
Are there any plans to visit Europe anytime soon?
It would be very nice and we are already working on a European tour (TBC).
The Ibiza season is fast coming to a close, being such an important piece of the global dance music puzzle, please tell us in your own words what Ibiza means to you?
It’s the centre of the world for music and the party industry in our eyes. To DJ's it's pretty much Disneyland!
It's no secret that NYE in Brazil is probably the most celebrated worldwide, where and how will you guys be experiencing the festivities this year?
In Brazil NYE is a big thing and there are a lot of parties all over the country. We have a big show on the beach this year in Búzios (rj).
Having climbed the ladder to being the biggest EDM act of Brazil, what are your future goals from this point on?
We are very happy to be doing well in Brazil alongside some very talented DJ's that are already being recognised Worldwide. Our main objective is to travel and DJ all around the globe spreading our music and love. Our fans having unforgettablemoments on our dance floor is what matters for us. We Play you Dance!
